El fin de semana pasado tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar de esta gran película alemana, Das Leben der Anderen (La vida de los otros) y dejenme decirles que estuvo excelente, me gusto mucho. La trama se desarrolla en una Alemania Oriental de los años ochentas antes de la caída del muro de Berlín, donde los agentes de la famosa Stasi espían y violan la privacidad de cualquier individuo que consideren pueda ser peligroso para el régimen. Aquí es cuando aparece el capitán Gerd Wiesler, un hombre con la misión de espíar al escritor Georg Dreyman durante el día, utilizando para eso microfonos ocultos instalados en la casa del escritor. Poco a poco la soledad de Wiesler va convirtiéndose en una obsesión por la vida de Wiesler y su esposa (los otros), lo cual cambiará la vida y la forma de pensar del capitán para siempre, de una manera que ni siquiera él se espera.
Cabe destacar el excelente guión que posee y la actuación del ya fallecido Ulrich Mühe como Wiesler. Ganadora de un Bafta y un Oscar por Mejor película de habla no inglesa, esta película alemana del 2007 es una excelente opción, así que si tienen la oportunidad de verla, háganlo.
Así es, hoy se han cumplido 17 años desde que el genio Mercury nos dejó. Pero su voz sigue entre nosotros, porque nunca nos murió, siempre estará entre los oídos y las entrañas de aquellos que escuchen a Queen.
Hace exactamente 17 años, un 24 de Noviembre como el de hoy, el líder, vocalista y compositor de la banda inglesa Queen murió de SIDA (Síndrome de Inmunodeficiencia Adquirida) a solo un día de haber anunciado su condición.
Tal vez el cuerpo de Freddy haya fallecido, pero su voz nunca lo hará, la voz de Queen nunca callará, su eco seguirá sonando.

Recién pasada una semana que terminé de leer Watchmen, y debo decir que es una obra maestra. La forma en la que retrata la vida de estos “superhéroes” es inigualable, los conflictos que afrontan ante la cotidianidad y su “necesidad” de hacer algo, en un mundo en el que ya nada se puede hacer aparentemente.
Una pequeña sinopsis: La historia se desarrolla en la época de los ochentas, está apunto de estallar una Tercera Guerra Mundial debido a los constantes conflictos entre las potencias mundiales. Los héroes enmascarados han sido declarados ilegales, por lo que se ven obligados a volver a la cotidianidad de personas normales. Todo esto cambiará cuando uno de ellos es asesinado misteriosamente…
Hace dos años se confirmo que Watchmen sería llevada al cine por Zack Snyder (director de 300). El estreno de la película está planeado para el 6 de Marzo del 2009. Mientras llega el momento les dejo los dos trailers de lo que podría ser el mejor film basado en un comic. Prepárense, los vigilantes se acercan.
Esta entrada es mi tributo a uno de mis programas favoritos de la infancia: LEYENDAS DEL TEMPLO ESCONDIDO.
Era uno de esos programas tan buenos en el Nickelodeon de los ’90s, junto con La vida moderna de Rocko, Kablam!, Pete & Pete, Clarissa, El show de Amanda, Kenan & Kell y otros.
Podías emocionarte con los retos del show y al mismo tiempo asustarte con los “peligros” que ocultaba el misterioso templo. Y de seguro el más tenebroso de ellos: los guardianes. ¿A qué ser humano sobre la faz de la Tierra no le darían miedo esos tipo? Digo, imaginen que van ustedes todos felices en el templo, buscando de jarrón en jarrón las piezas del “mono místico” (o algo asi) para poder terminar el reto y ganarte tus merecidos zapatos rebotadores (uno de los premios del juego), cuando derrepente sale un tipo en taparrabo, bailando y gritando y te da el susto de tu vida. Pero eso no es todo, si no que… ¡Te roba una parte de tu medallón el muy desgraciado! Y si por desgracia no tenía que robarte… ¡Te secuestraba! Traumático, lo sé.
Al final muchso perdían y se quedaban con las ilusiones de aquellos zapatos rebotadores o aquel cruzero por el Caribe.
Equipos como las Barracudas Azules (mi favorito), las Cotorras Púrpuras o Las Iguanas Verdes competían entre sí para llegar al famoso templo, donde una cabeza olmeca gigante les hablaba y les decía que hacer.
Hoy les hablaré de un excelente tema: Dazed & Confused, de los grandes Led Zeppelin. Está incluída en el álbum debút de la banda “Led Zeppelin” del año 1969. El tema comienza con unas notas de bajo y guitarra asombrosos, que vienen siendo el Intro de ésta obra maestra. A continuación tenemos la increíble voz de Robert Plant y seguido unos riffs un poco psicodélicos y con un sonido peculiar.
Después tenemos un asombroso Riff, que tiene cierto parecido con el de Paranoid de Black Sabbath, pero que va a compañado por unos toques de batería excelentes, que nos dan paso a una nueva parte de la canción, donde el vocalista empieza a gemir imitando la guitarra de Jimmy Page. De aquí sigue una de las mejores partes de la canción en su versión en vivo, dónde el maestro Page utilizaba un arco de violín para tocar su guitarra. Sí, así como lo oyeron, un arco de violín. Con él lograba asombrosos efectos de sonido que le hacen honor al nombre de la canción “Mareado y Confundido”. Justo después de este orgasmico momento llega el GRAN solo, acompañado de la GRAN batería del GRAN John Bonham.
La canción tuvo mucha polémica en su tiempo, ya que se afirmaba que -como otras canciones de Led Zeppelin- supuestamente contenía mensajes subliminales satánicos, lo que causó revuelto en la sociedad inglesa. Fue originalmente escrita por Jack Holmes y había sido tocada por la antigua banda en la que estaba Jimmy Page, The Yardbirds. Pero ninguna como la versión de Led Zeppelin. Toda una obra maestra.

Abriendo tenemos una noticia triste: Richard Wright, tecladista y miembro fundador de Pink Floyd fallece hoy 15 de septiembre del 2008 de cáncer.
La familia del difunto anunció que Wright murió en la madrugada del 15 de septiembre a los 65 años después de una lucha contra el cáncer (no se espicifico de qué tipo). Se pidió que la intimidad de sus familiares se mantuviera durante el difícil momento.
Richard Wright fue uno de los fundadores y un miembro fundamental en Pink Floyd. Sin embargo, después de varios conflictos fuertes con el bajista Roger Waters, tuvo que dejar la banda en 1979 (Waters amenazaba con no “dar a luz” The Wall, su siguiente álbum, si Wright no abandonaba la banda).
Esto nos deja con cada vez menos posibilidades de un reencuentro de Pink Floyd, si las cosas se veían difíciles, ahora estan peor. Los dejó con un video de David Gilmoure y Richard Wright tocando juntos Comfortably Numb (que temazo)
